on a related note, the default art for the top of the site is pretty much
abstract art. granted there is also a huge girl to the left, but the rest is an
abstract render with some
complementary graphics (/selfpromotion) like abstract lines and random text.
i've never really liked it, and when i think about it now i think it really
doesn't fit the site. i'd rather see that go. the abstract art section on the
other hand, may not be exactly what mt is about, but instead of removing it, i
think it should be moderated more. it's nice to have a place to put things that
doesn't really belong anywhere else, but that's no reason it should be filled
with crap.
i hadn't tried since i had no business in any other thread, but apparently i can
reply to this thread.
(edit)
and i am still getting the error when trying to post in the "deleted
images" thread. is this the only place where i can ask about quarentined
submissions?
(edit again)
apparently i could post in the tread i wanted, but not the text i wanted,
something in the entry i want to post seems to be causing this error, i'll be
testing some in this thread to see what it might be.
(last edit)
what was causing the error was a row break directly after a url that points to a
/view/[submissionnumber]/ location on gallery.minitokyo.net (i wrote a full url
starting with h t t p : // and ending with /)
the forum automatically wants to change the url to a link with the text
"[name of submission] by [submitter]" i don't know if that might cause
the problem. i could post my reply by just putting a space and continue writing
after the url instead of changing to new row directly after the /
just so you know if it's something you want to look in to.
you may kill this thread now if you wish. thank you.
i have been trying to post in the "Complaints: deleted images, warnings,
bans." thread for a few hours now, but i keep recieving the following error
and my reply is not added:
"There was an error with the database. Please try again
later."
i can obviously make a new thread, is there something wrong with the pinned
thread i'm trying to reply to? is this known and will it be adressed?
first time i saw boogiepop phantom i thought it was kind of scary. second time,
not so much. i do however really enjoy the mood and the sickness of the anime,
and it's still a little scary. plus it really is a great anime.
are there any more good animes like boogiepop, and what i really want to know,
are there any really scary animes? the japanese has made some good horror
movies, but are there any good horror animes? not thriller or splatter, but
horror, that sincerely is (or tries to be) scary?
does anyone know the release info for this game? i understand it will be
released in english, but even that doesn't seem certain. it will come to the
ps2, and it will come to japan. that don't help me much though since i don't
know japanese. yet.
i actually though that the game had already been translated and released for pc
in english. apparently i was wrong because i can't find any info on an english
pc release. there are however info in english for a pc version on their website
(http://pc.magnacarta.co.kr) but it doesn't say that it's in english.
argh, can someone please help me straighten this out?
i've screwed up my main partition that contains my xp install. i've recovered my
important files, and used a tool to fix the mbr and the partition table. i have
another xp install now on a different harddrive and i can access my main
hardrive and the partition normally now in windows.
of course that drive/partition won't boot anymore.
is there someway to make my main disk and partition bootable again?
i'm really bummed by the thought of having to reinstall every single thing.
i also tried the xp install program (boot from cd) to see if it could
fix/rewrite the mbr, but the cd won't recognize my old xp install, just this new
tmp one.
i don't think it would rival ps, so i'll just stick with that. however, it would
be nice to get rid of standard paint that serves no purpose at all and have this
instead. as long as it starts up fast and runs fast.
gitaroo man is sweet ^^
but that's about the only other music/rythm game i play exept for ddr, or
dancing stage as they have chosen to call it here in eu...
another thing struck me. they say you will probably be able to use standard pc
graphic cards in future macs. wouldn't this, together with the intel chip, make
it a whole lot easier to port games to mac?
Quote by linusunfortunatly i saw the am
ring first, so it made me somewhat biased. i don't thing the am grudge was very
good though, i prefer the jap version of that. i haven't seen the jap cinema
version of grudge though, only the tv version, and it was better than i
though.
ive seen both and they pretty much trip me out more then its american remake,
dont even get me started on the ring... one more thing, has anyone here seen "a tale of
two sisters"? if so care to run some things passed me
^^
i've seen it, i didn't think it was very scary. it had some moments, but the way
i though of it it didn't seem like it was supposed to be a pure horror movie.
anyway, it was a pretty good movie though.
edit: it's "Genre: Horror / Drama / Mystery / Thriller" according to
imdb, i'd say that's about right.
the image i found on the official site
(http://www.abit.com.tw/common/windowprint.php?PICT_NAME=/upload/products/IS7-E_pic6.jpg)
shows another fan. they must've replaced it later in production. those bastards!

i prefer star wars because of the story, characters and overall feel. it's a
totally different world. star trek on the other hand is supposed to be out
future, and thus colored by that with a semi navy/military organization that
everything revolves around. star wars has the rebels too, i always like rooting
for the underdog.
i don't really like comparing them though, because i think they are so different
(apart from them both being sci-fi). i like star trek too though, right now i'm
watching tos from the beginning, i've never seen it before. i thought i'd see
where they went after enterprise, i'm really sad they cancelled that series, it
was getting better and better. when i'm done with tos i'll probably continue to
tng.
the star wars series they are planning seems interesting as well, i hope they
won't be crappy
at apples keynote earlier today steve announced that apple computers will
contain intel chips in the future. apparently they have been compiling macos to
run on x86 architecture for the past five years "just in case" they
would need to make macos available on x86.
i don't own a mac, but my next computer will probably be a mac. i hope that this
cooperation will make the macs faster and *fingers crossed* cheaper.
they never mentioned it, but i for one would like to be able to boot macos on my
pc. sure the mac computers are very nice and stylish, but it's really the os
that's interesting. if they wanted, they could make version of macos that runs
on standard pc's pretty easy, and it's closer now than ever. apple probably
won't do that for some time though, cause then you'd have no reason to buy their
pricey hardware...
the intel macs will start shipping next year at latest.
are there any mac users here or do most of you use pc? what do you think of
apples announcement? is anyone else thinking of doing the switch and buy their
first mac?
that mini looks nice, but i'm saving my money for travels right now
yeah, i've been thinking about going wild with a can of air in there, i should
try that too. the fan itself is screwed tightly to the board though, but if i
wiggle it it seems as if the actual fan part is too loose from the pin.
the fan is also outlined by these metal cooling thingies.
my friend has the same mobo, and he has been messing with it more than i have, i
think he tried to remove it but didn't succeed, so it doesn't seem like
replacing it is that easy.
well i'll try to pick upp a can of air tomorrow anyway...
i have a small fan on my mother board that has begun to wobble and make an awful
noise. sometimes it's quiet, and sometimes i can make it stop by poking it with
a pen or turning the computer off an wiggle it for a while. sometimes i can also
make it stop spinning when poking it, thus rendering it silent. the fan is about
4cm in diameter and when it's not quiet it's driving me insane.
my question is, how important do you think this fan is for cooling the computer?
would it be safe to either see if i can remove it safely, cut the power to it,
or perhaps if there is a setting to turn it off? the fan is located in the
middle of the mobo, between the agp and the processor.
i also have two fans on my chassi, one that sucks and one that blows. would
those fans help circulate enough air to keep the temperature down inside the
computer without the mobo fan?
i can also mention that i bought my computer in parts, so it's not like a dell
or something where they might have put the extra fans on the chassi because it
was necessary. the fans just happened to be on the chassi i chose to go with the
mobo.
yeah, i want it to be like a shortcut, i want to put it in the menu in blackbox
(shell replacement), and i want it to show the normal shutdown dialog that you
get when normally choosing shutdown from the startmenu. after posting here i
found one line that was supposed to work when you put it in a .js file, but it
didn't. i'm not getting any errors when running it, but nothing happens
the line was
(new ActiveXObject("Shell.Application")).ShutdownWindows();
i also found it (written with more lines, but the same thing) on microsoft
msdn-something site, so it should be correct (tried the one with more lines as
well). there was also a similar code snippet on the same page, but in vbs. i
tried the same thing with that, put it in a .vbs file but nothing happens when i
run it, no errors either...
am i doing something wrong or is my computer just being uncooperative?
when i was little, i don't know how old, but probably younger than ten, my
brother and me rented starzinger from the local video rental store. i didn't
know i was watching anime, but i was hooked. we rented the other five tapes of
the swedish dubbed episodes, it was great. i belive that was my first contact
with anime. after that it took some years, but i think akira or sailor moon on
tv came next.
hi, i've got an idea for a wallpaper, but i can't find any good images to work
from. i'm looking for images where the character is running forward with a
weapon in his/her hand. be it a sword or some other pointy object that looks
good in a silouette.
i want the image to show the character from the side, like he/she is running
from left to right or vice versa.
i can't even find any like that on kenshin.
does anybody have an idea what to look for, or maybe know of a specific
image?

laputa. no question.
i just came back from my friend. i'm trying to get him hooked ^^
left my mat there for him to play with
wouldn't call me a freak, but it's really fun.

i don't know what kind of images you mean, enchanter, but i found some at http://www.hwlab.com/board_usage.php?action=view&code=261&page=5&searchflag=&keyword=
the heatsink looks a little higher than mine, but it's probably because of the close-ups.
